HOW We Can Work Together

Abstract art with spheres balancing on rods.

Couples Therapy

Ongoing sessions for the two of you together focus on enhancing communication, addressing conflict patterns, and building trust and intimacy.

We also cover important aspects of sexual wellbeing, tailoring our approach to whatever your relationship therapy needs most. Most couples begin with weekly or fortnightly sessions.

Intimacy and Sex Therapy

Focused work on sexual concerns, including vaginismus, erectile difficulties, pain during sex, low or mismatched desire, unconsummated marriage, and performance anxiety, is an integral part of intimacy counselling.

Our sessions are talk-based (this is relationship therapy, not a physical examination) and may include structured exercises for you and your partner to practice privately.

If a medical evaluation is necessary for your sexual wellbeing, I'll assist you in finding the right doctor and we'll collaborate with them.

Individual Sessions

Sometimes, relationship therapy starts with one person—perhaps your partner isn't ready yet, or you may need to focus on your own journey toward sexual wellbeing and intimacy counselling first.

Pre-Marital Counselling

For couples about to marry—whether in arranged marriages, love matches, or something in between—we provide insights on expectations, money, family boundaries, and intimacy. We also discuss intimacy counselling, relationship therapy, and how to effectively manage sexual wellbeing, helping you learn how to fight well before you've had your first big confrontation.

FAQs

Is the process confidential?

Yes. What you share stays between us, with the standard legal exceptions (risk of serious harm to yourself or others). We don't share anything with your family, and appearing on my client list is itself confidential.

What is the duration of the therapy?

It varies - some couples come for six to eight focused sessions in relationship therapy, while others work with me for longer. In our first session, we'll discuss your goals for intimacy counselling, and give you an honest sense of what amount of time would be needed.

My partner won't come. Can I come alone?

Absolutely. Individual work in intimacy counselling often shifts the relationship on its own - and reluctant partners frequently join once they see the change.

Is it awkward to talk about sex with a stranger?

For about ten minutes, sometimes. Then it becomes a relief. Remember: there is nothing you can say that we haven't heard as professionals in this space, and our job is the opposite of judging you.

Do you see unmarried / live-in / LGBTQ+ couples?

All couples are welcome here, regardless of marital status, orientation, or how your relationship is structured.

Is online therapy as effective as in-person?

For couples and sex therapy, research consistently finds online work comparably effective - and many couples find it easier to open up from their own home. It also means privacy: no waiting rooms, no running into anyone.

Do you prescribe medication or treat medical causes of sexual problems?

No. This is a platform for therapy and Urvashi is not a medical doctor. Some sexual difficulties have medical components, and when that's possible, we would recommend seeing a gynaecologist, urologist, or psychiatrist alongside our work. Therapy and medicine often work best together for sexual wellbeing.
